Recognition of research on Uzbekistan’s farm consolidation

01 November 2024

The 2012 manuscript “Farm Restructuring and Land Consolidation in Uzbekistan: New Farms with Old Barriers” co-authored by Nodir Djanibekov, Kristof van Assche, Ihtiyor Bobojonov, and John P.A. Lamers, has been mentioned among the top five articles with real world impact featured in Europe-Asia Studies in celebration of the journal’s 75th Anniversary.

This recognition highlights the study’s impact on understanding how rural land consolidation could serve as a catalyst for economic growth in transitional settings, using the Khorezm region in Uzbekistan as an example, while also discussing the challenges faced due to inherited Soviet agricultural frameworks.

More about this in the Europe-Asia Studies Journal’s 75th Anniversary post here. The article can be accessed here.
