Online Seminars on Applied Economics and Policy Analysis in Central Asia

IAMO researchers join the Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in organization of an open online academic seminar series on the issues of applied economics and policy analysis in Central Asia. The idea of the 14-session seminars is to offer an online platform for the dissemination of research among scholars worldwide interested in the issues of applied economics and policy analysis in the Central Asian region. The seminars will run via Zoom each Wednesday from 13:30 CEST and include presentations on theoretical and empirical approaches.

The series starts on Wednesday, 27 May with a discussion of the implications of the 2020 Global Food Policy Report and the impact of COVID-19 on food systems in the Eurasia. The speakers are Johan Swinnen, Director General of IFPRI, and Kamiljon Akramov, Senior Research Fellow, Development Strategy and Governance Division, IFPRI. The seminar series is co-organized by the Eurasian Center for Food Security at Lomonosov Moscow State University, the WIUT, the World Bank and IFPRI.
